Star Awards 2009. My Prediction.

Finally, Star Awards is approaching! There wasnt a Star Awards event in year 2008 and finally there will be an upcoming Star Awards event coming on 26/April. The nomination list is officially revealed and most of the actors/actresses are from Little Nyonya. The Little Nyonya is nominated for Best Drama Serial, Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Supporting Actor, Best Supporting Actress, Best Theme Song and Young Talent Award. In the Best Supporting Actress category, five of the women from The Little Nyonya take up the six spots available. There was space for the evil, the good and the old. Lin Mei Jiao, as Gui Hua, the unforgiving wife and ruthless stepmother with the killer stares; Eelyn Kok, as Zhenzhu the selfish and devious sister made the list. So did the good gals - Xiang Yun as the ill-fated Tian Lan and Ng Hui as the fiercely loyal maid, Ah Tao. Li Yin Zhu rounds up the quintet as the rempah-udang-loving-matriarch, Chen Lao Tai. Cai Pei Xuan who played the feisty Rou Gu Mei in The Golden Path, rounds up the list. But im sorry Pei Xuan, you totally have no power against the Nyonyas.

Which drama should win?
I think either Just in Singapore or the two blockbuster dramas The Golden Path or The Little Nyonya should win as the stories are very interesting.

Which drama is as great as the nominations?
This is only my opinion.. I think these dramas should also be nominated in the list.

Which actor should win?
I think Tay Ping Hui's acting is superb in The Golden Path who plays the evil, selfish and heartless Huang Kai Jie but not forgetting Qi Yu Wu from The Little Nyonya who plays the handsome and kind-hearted Chen Xi whose heart was fully devoted to Yueniang, his chance of getting this award may be quite high.

I think the winner of this award should either be Felicia Chin who plays Lin Fei in The Golden Path, the stubborn rich girl who has cancer that can leave the world anytime or Jeanette Aw who plays the smart but disabled Ju Xiang and the self-sacrifising Yueniang in The Little Nyonya *Her chance of getting this award may be high as she plays two roles in The Little Nyonya* Lastly, not forgetting the kind-hearted and demure Nyonya Huang Yu Zhu played by Joanne Peh. Well, she has the most pitiful role in the Best Actress section who was raped and she became a lunatic at last who tries to strangle her own child. Will she get it?

I think the winner should either be the kind-hearted japanese photographer played by Dai Yang Tian in The Little Nyonya, he is recently popular because of this role and has been predicted the next mediacorp ah-ge although he has only appeared less than 10-epsiodes. However, not forgetting the ruthless, disgusting prevert son played by Zzen Zhang, he's totally hated in The Little Nyonya. Its now between the good and bad, who will get it at last?

Which actress should get it?
I really hope that Ng Hui can get this award as her acting is really great in The Little Nyonya, who plays the ill-fated loyal maid, Ah Tao. Her role in The Little Nyonya is much much better than her previous roles and if she get this award, it will be a great encouragement for her to strive better in the future. Other than Ng Hui, i think Eelyn's chances are also very high, she plays the evil, selfish and ruthless Nyonya, Huang Zhen Zhu. Hopefully, Ng Hui or Eelyn can get this award.

Who should get it?
I think either Dai Yang Tian or Paige Chua can get this award. Dai Yang Tian is very famous recently, so i think his chances are quite high. For Paige Chua, i think she can act very well and she can take in different roles. From her debut role from Just in Singapore, who plays the selfish graduate who instantly looks down on her family, Xiu Zhen to the young mother, Ting Ting in La Femme to the problematic scientist in Crimebusters x2 and finally to the tomboyish Xiao Wei in The Dream Catchers. I think her chances are high too.

Well, all these are only my prediction and hopefully my prediction will be correct. Hehe.
